SOLD!  Fern is a purebred Romney ewe born in spring of 2006.  Her fleece this year weighs 7.3 pounds and has a staple length of 6.25 inches.  This fleece is a pale silvery gray with high luster and a multitude of black fibers in a nearly white background.  The crimp is typical of a Romney and has some variation across the fleece, as can be seen in the photo.  It has a nice handle to it.  A prize-winner for us in the past, Fern's fleece will compete this year at the Estes Park Wool Market, and will not be available for shipment until mid-June.

SOLD!  Dusty is cross-bred Romney/Border Leicester Ewe born in 2004.  This year's fleece weighs 5.3 pounds and has a staple length of 5.25 inches.  This fleece is a beautiful silvery gray in color, and has very nice luster that only enhances its color.  The crimp of this fleece is fairly typical of a Romney, but it should be noted that it varies markedly from one area to another (please see photo).  Dusty's fleece has a nice handle, and will be shown in Sedalia, MO, in early June, making it available for shipment in mid-June. 

SOLD!  Belle is a purebred Romney ewe born in 2002.  Her fleece this spring weighs 5.7 pounds and has a staple length of 4.75 inches.  It is a beautiful dove gray in color, with some darker gray sections.  This fleece has wonderful handle and a very even crimp.  The crimp is slightly higher frequency than is typical for an adult ewe.  This fleece has nice luster, although is not the most lustrous fleece we have to offer.  Belle's fleece will be shown in shows in both Maryland and Missouri, and will be available for shipment in mid-June.

SOLD!  Brit is a Romney/Border Leicester-cross ewe born in spring of 2002.  Her fleece this shearing weighs 6.4 pounds and has a staple length of 4.75 inches.  This fleece is primarily silvery gray with areas ranging from pale silver to medium steel gray - a beautiful fleece!  This fleece has nery nice luster, and crimp typical of a Romney.  The crimp is fairly uniform across the fleece as can be seen in the first photo of random staples.  This is a nice, soft fleece, although not one of the softest of this shearing.  Brit's fleece will be shown at the Iowa State Fair in mid-August, and will then be ready to ship in mid- to late-August. 

Eisley is a cross-bred Romney/Border Leicester ewe born in 2005.  This year's fleece weighs 7.7 pounds and has a staple length of 6 inches.  It is a beautiful light gray/silver in color with darker gray areas and some black spots.  With a nice, typical Romney crimp, this fleece is high luster and has a nice handle.  Eisley's fleece is also very greasy, and so has been discounted somewhat for the lower clean yield.  This fleece will be shown at the MO festival in early June, and so it will be available for shipment in mid-June. 

SOLD!  Faith is a cross-bred Romney/Border Leicester ewe born in 2006.  Her fleece this shearing weighs 6.8 pounds and has a staple length of 6 inches.  This fleece is primarily a lovely charcoal gray, with areas of steel gray and others that are very nearly black.  The crimp is fairly uniform and typical of a Romney.  This fleece has great luster and a soft handle; a truly great fleece!  Faith's fleece is scheduled to compete at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival in early September, and will therefore be available for shipment in mid-September.
