SOLD! Geist is a purebred Romney ewe lamb born in spring of 2007, making this
her first shearing. This fleece weighs 5.1 pounds and has a staple length of 5 inches. It has a nice luster and
is the whitest of the three white lamb fleeces this spring. It is fairly even in crimp across the fleece (see picture),
with a crimp that is typical for a young Romney. This fleece is nice and soft to the touch, and has an average
fiber diameter of about 33 microns. This fleece will compete at the Iowa Summer Sheep and Wool Festival, so it will
not be available to ship until late in June, 2008.
SOLD!! Geode is a purebred Romney ewe lamb born in spring of 2007. This year's first-shearing fleece
weighs 5.3 pounds, and has a staple length of 5.25 inches. Both of Geode's parents have won multiple awards, as
have many others of the same lineage. This fleece has nice luster, and crimp typical of a young Romney. The crimp
is fairly uniform across the fleece (see picture). It is not as soft to the touch as the other white fleeces from
this shearing, but is not harsh either. This is a very nice white fleece with an average fiber diameter of
34 microns. This fleece is scheduled to compete in the Iowa Summer Sheep & Wool Festival, and so
is not available until late in June, 2008. TOTAL PRICE IS $51 = $10 deposit, with the balance of $41 paid in June
prior to shipment.
SOLD!! Genesis is a purebred Romney ewe lamb born in the spring of 2007, and shorn for the first time this spring.
This fleece weighs 4.6 pounds and has a staple length of 5.5 inches. The crimp of this fleece is typical of a young
Romney and, although fairly uniform, it does vary a bit as shown in the photo. This fleece has a bit less luster than
the other two white fleeces from this shearing, but has very nice staple formation and good strength. The average fiber
diameter of this fleece was measured at 28.2 microns. A very nice fleece.
